Morgan Dining Hall Expands to Provide New Alternatives

New dining services opened with the start of the 2014 fall semester in the Morgan Hall Dining Center and food court.

Morgan Hall’s Dining Center is located on the first and second floors of Morgan Hall on Broad Street. A bistro, an all you can eat buffet, and a convenience store are now among the many choices students have to eat on Temple’s campus.

The Bistro at Morgan is a trendy new Bistro, located on the first floor in Morgan Hall’s food court between Pleasant News Café, and Southside Diner. Some of the Bistro’s menu items include coffee, bakery items, gourmet soups, salads, sandwiches, and sushi.

Morgan Hall has introduced a new All-You-Care-To-Eat dining facility on the second floor of the dining center. Options include, Mediterranean Pie, featuring pizza and pasta with sauces inspired by Italy, France, Spain, and Northern Africa. Sazón de México offers tacos, burritos, rice bowls, churros, cupcakes, and more. And Magellan’s which offers breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Lunch features pre-made sandwiches and a made-to-order deli, and dinners feature hot entrees and a salad bar.

“Students had the desire to have an all you can eat on this side of campus,” said Firouz Khaksar, Sodexo’s General Manager at Temple University.

Khaksar teamed up with the Temple Student Government and administration, and Sodexo to decide what changes should be made to the dining services to best serve students and their needs.

“I’m pleased with the way it turned out, it is important to make sure the kids are happy, and to make this a social and cultural place,” Khaksar adds. “We continue to look for ways to improve. Times change, students opinions change, and we want to keep up with those changes.”
