NCNW Hosts 3rd Annual Black Girls Rock Awards

The National Council of Negro Women (NCNW) presented the 3rdannual Black Girls Rock award ceremony this past Saturday at the Howard Gittis Student Center.

The ceremony was held to honor the Black excellence present all across Temple’s campus. The night kicked off with opening statements from the event host Chris Ziegler and Carley Newton, head event planner for NCNW.

A performance started off the evening; a modeling show from P.U.M.P., the new modeling club on campus. Guests were then able to enjoy food and refreshments before hearing from the keynote speaker Dr. Brandi Baldwin-Rana, CEO of Millennial Venture Holdings.

The performances continued with a song by former NCNW member Tiara Mitchell and a dance by Andreana Miller, and closed with the award ceremony celebrating all of the Black excellence here on Temple’s campus.
