Owls place 12th in the Wolfpack Intercollegiate

After the final round of the Wolfpack Intercollegiate at the Lonnie Poole Golf Course in Raleigh, North Carolina, Temple men’s golf placed 12th out of 16 teams.

As a team, the Owls carded a final round total of 301, which resulted in a 17-over-par score for the day.

Sophomore John Barone posted Temple’s best two-day total with a 4-over-par 146. Barone shot a 3-over-par 74 in the first round and shot a final round 72 to finish in a tie for 23rd.

Freshman Trey Wren carded a final round 72 to put him in a tie for 30th. Fellow freshman Sam Soeth finished his final round with a 77 after shooting 72 in the first round. He dropped 31 spots on the day to finish in a tie for 39th.

Sophomores Evan Thornton and Bobby Firth finished their final rounds with scores of 80 and 84, respectively. Thornton finished the tournament in a tie for 76, and Firth finished in 90th.

Augusta University won the two-day team tournament with a total of 5-over-par 573. Robin Petersson of Augusta University took the individual honors after finishing with a final round 68 to put him at a 6-under-par total.

The Owls will continue their fall season when they tee it up in the Autotrader.com Golf Classic in Duluth, GA at Berkeley Hills Country Club from October 12th to October 13th.
