Philly Zoo’s Luminature

“Over a million lights, different zones as you saw earlier, and it’s,it’s just a great show every year,” said Patrick McMaster, Vice President of Marketing and Communications at the Philadelphia Zoo.

The 6th Annual Luminature kicked off late November at the Philadelphia Zoo, with a little over a million lights, interactive characters, and merch. It’s the perfect way to jump-start your holiday. 

“We’ve been doing this since 2019, we took 2020 off. But it’s an amazing family oriented, traditional event that a lot of people have made a family tradition for,for their, holiday plans,” said McMaster.

“We’ve driven by it a million times and seen the lights and always wanted to come, we come to the zoo quite a bit, but first time for the event”, said Bridget shea from  Narberth PA

This evening Showcases immersive light shows, christmas trees, merch, and the man of the hour, Santa Claus 

“I think anytime  somebody see that santa claus is going to be there, they want to go. So thats the biggest thing”, said Santa Claus

Families come around for the view from the new 110 foot ferris wheel 

“As many people are talking about around philly, is our big new philly, zoo ferris wheel, 110 ft light up ferris wheel. That’ll be running all all, all year long”, Said Mcmaster 

With lots of furry friends and festive lights, families couldn’t be more excited for this holiday season 

“I’ve never been here in the dark, you know, and seeing the lights it’s very wholesome, so im happy to be here”, said Libby Shae from Narberth PA

“I’ve been doing this for ten years now, and so every year comes up, you get excited, i mean if you’re not getting nervous, then you might as well not do santa”, said Santa
