Police Report a Quadruple Shooting Near Temple University

Police say, a 19-year-old woman died and 3 men were wounded after gunshots were fired in North Philadelphia Wednesday afternoon. 

The shooting happened around the corner of 11th and Thompson streets around 3:30 p.m., near St. Malachy Catholic School. 

Police later identified, Yaniyah Foster, as the 19-year-old woman who was shot in the head and later died at Temple University Hospital. 

Police say, a 25-year-old man also suffered a gunshot wound to the head and remains in critical condition.

A 23-year-old man and a 25-year-old man sustained gunshot wounds to the left leg and right arm. The two are in stable condition.

According to police, three victims were sitting on a porch outside of a home when two men came around the corner and opened fire. Police reported at least 20 rounds were fired at the scene. 

Authorities say the shooting victims were taken to Temple University Hospital by private vehicles.

 “Three vehicles have been detained at Temple Hospital,” said Staff Sergeant Sekou Kinebrew. “At least two of those cars contained firearms”.

Homicide Captain Jason Smith said investigators are questioning several suspects who remain unidentified.
