Today starts “Media and the Global City,” the Global Fusion conference hosted by Temple University’s School of Media and Communication. Temple University recently joined Southern Illinois University, Ohio University, the University of Texas at Austin, Texas A&M University, and the University of Virginia in advancing research and education on global communication.
“It’s an especially appropriate topic, given that Philadelphia was recently named the first World Heritage City in the United States.” stated David Boardman, the Dean of Temple University’s School of Media and Production, on the theme of this year’s conference.
Registration begins at noon, followed by Pre-Conferences from 1:00 pm to 4:30 pm. At 5:00 pm, The Global Fusion Plenary commences, and then Boardman will greet everyone at the Welcome Reception.
Saturday starts bright and early with registration launching at 7:30 am. With 16 different panels, a poster session, and a lecture, attendants will constantly be entertained and informed throughout the day. Topics range from violence, identity, and even Netflix, all from international perspectives.
