It’s voting season, and all across the campus, people are reacting. Most students know that this is an important time and that this is an election unlike any other.
Many students on campus are aligning with Bernie Sanders. Katie Weaver is an avid Bernie Sanders fan, saying that “he represents the best interests for our nation right now.” Some students prefer other candidates, like Lenny Besidsky, who likes Donald Trump.
There seems to be a big push for Bernie, but many people aren’t registered or don’t know when or where to vote. That is why Nico Pastore and his friends are making sure people are registered and informed. They are working with Bernie campaign offices, going from state to state, and getting involved with getting people registered, phone banking, and going from door to door.
These students show that young people are taking an active interest in the political process and choosing to voice their opinion through campaigning, canvasing, and making themselves heard through voting.
No matter who you choose to vote for, make sure you participate in the state primary on April 26. You can register to vote here.
