Temple University and the Beasley School of Law hosted a panel discussion surrounding the gubernatorial candidates — Democrat Tom Wolf and Republican incumbent Tom Corbett.
Students were invited to a symposium in the Beasley School of Law to discuss poverty, disability, immigration and aging as they pertain to the upcoming election.
Connecting the issues to Temple University, Executive Director of Community Legal Services, Cathy Carr was most concerned with the newest landlord tenant law to be propose in the state legislature.
“We [Temple University] have been very involved in Harrisburg’s landlord tenant act [as] it could take certain rights away from tenants,” said Carr.
With the election less than two weeks away, students are encouraged to register to vote and make their voice heard this election season.
