Grab your passports because this week is Temple University’s first-ever Super Mega Global Week. Super Mega Global week is the universities’ merger of Temple’s Study Abroad week and #YouAreWelcomeHere week, a week filled with activities and fairs centered around student inclusivity and the various study abroad programs available to students.
Temple University’s global impact has a long and far-reaching history, with campuses all around the globe like Temple Rome and Temple Japan campuses.
Dean of Temple Rome Emilia Zankina stated that Temple is “… among the first universities to establish overseas campuses, starting in Rome 56 years ago and in Japan 40 years ago. But more importantly, what its early effort showed is Temples commitment to global engagement and to cultivating a global mindset among our students”
This week’s events kicked off at the Bell Tower where students were able to participate in trivia and ask faculty and Temple students about their experiences aboard. The week was filled with events like the Study Abroad fair on Wednesday in Tuttleman, a TAI-CHI event, A Temple lingo language event, and many more.
If you’re afraid you missed all the events, don’t fret because you can still catch the Global Gala Friday at the Howard Gittis Center, where students can enjoy free food, cultural performances by Temple students, and engaging tables designed to celebrate Temple’s global diversity.
