Suspect Charged in the Murder of Keisha Jenkins

PHILADELPHIA- Police say one suspect has been arrested in the murder of transgender woman Keisha Jenkins. Police say Jenkins was assaulted and shot multiple times by a group of five to six men on the morning of Tuesday, October 6.

Authorities say they received a tip on Sunday, October 11, that led to the arrest of 24-year-old Pedro Redding. Redding has four prior arrests, including assault, narcotics, weapons violation and robbery. He was put on probation after pleading guilty to the weapons and assault charges.

Redding  now faces multiple charges including conspiracy, firearm offense and murder. He was denied bail and currently awaits a preliminary hearing scheduled for October 28.

Police believe the motive appears to be robbery, and they will continue their search for the others involved.
