The Temple Volleyball team won another conference match against ECU Friday evening extending their record to 6-3 in conference and 13-6 overall.
In the first set, Temple was down, but using their dominating offensive skills, they were able to get the victory with a score of 25-15. The second set was a back and forth game with lead changes happening often. In the end, however, Temple was able to pull out the second set victory with a score of 25-22. Temple let the third set slip away and took control too late in the game. The third set was close, but ECU won with a sc
ore of 28-26. In the fourth set of the match, Temple came out dominating with its offense. Temple started out with a huge lead, and ECU could not recover. Temple won the fourth set 25-17, and they won the match overall 3-1.
The Owls had stellar performances by Junior Janine Simmons, who had 9 kills and 3 blocks, and from Senior Kirsten Overton, who had 8 kills. Juniors Irem Asci and Izzy Rapacz both had double- doubles. Asci had 17 kills and 10 digs while Rapacz recorded 13 kills and 13 digs. Junior Kyra Coundourides had 51 assists and 8 digs, and Senior Tyler Davis had 10 kills.
The Owls next game will be on Sunday at 1 PM at Cincinnati.
