Temple Field Hockey Win Against Quinnipiac (3-2) Reaching Closer To The Big East Tournament

Philadelphia, PA– The Owls (6-10, 3-3) were able to pull out a win on Friday afternoon, as they needed the win to continue their season as competitors in the Big East Tournament. After a turn of events in the first half against Quinnipiac, the Owls were still able to come out on top as freshman Maddie Merton, and redshirt junior, Sarah Keer displayed their outstanding skills.

Quinnipiac started early scoring one goal at 67:56, but Maddie Merton of the Temple Owls did not allow to be under Quinnipiac for long as she scored at 53:35 through an assist from Sarah Keer.

The dream team came back after the second half with an instant score from Sarah Keer and an assist from Maddie Merton at 29:18. Merton continued the hype at almost seven minutes later with an assisted goal. With five minutes left in the game, Quinnipiac was able to score one assist, but that was it. Leading with one more than the Bobcats, the Owls were able to pull out the win.

The team will be at Liberty for their last conference game at 4 p.m. on Friday, October 28.
