Temple Students Excited for Summer Break

If there’s one thing that Temple students are excited about, it’s summer break. With finals concluding this upcoming week, students will be on their ways back home to enjoy the nice weather.

Junior Dufort, a freshman criminal justice student, is excited about break because that means he gets the opportunity to travel to the sunny Los Angeles, California.

“I’m going to LA just to relax and de-stress after finals. I’m going to visit some cool artifacts, hit the beach, and it’s going to be a good time,” Dufort says.

On the other hand, many students will be graduating in Temple’s 131st Commencement Ceremony next week, so they plan on spending their break applying for full-time jobs.

“I’ll be job hunting, job hunting, and more job hunting,” says Miya Jones, a senior Journalism student.

Jones hopes to land a job in the television news industry as a producer. She dreams of one day having her own own talk show.

Over the summer, Temple University’s campus will be busy with the continuation of construction efforts on the new library. Charles Library is set to open in May 2019 at the intersection of Polett Walk and Liacouras Walk.

Additionally, students unable to travel back home are welcome to take full advantage of all the resources offered at the Tech Center. It will be open for the entirety of summer while operating on a different schedule.

Fall 2018 classes will resume in late August.
