The highly anticipated papal visit is right around the corner and Temple students are gearing up for the historical event.
Some plan to barricade themselves in their apartments and ride out the wave of pilgrims for the entire weekend.
“I’ll definitely be staying in my apartment, probably with my girlfriend, and treating this whole thing like a hurricane,” said one student. Others will be ditching the city to avoid the rush entirely.
Then there are those thinking entrepreneurially. “Philly’s top real estate right now,” one student told Update.
Many Philly residents are enlisting the help of room-sharing websites like Airbnb and Craigslist to rent out their apartments and rooms to tourists who make the pilgrimage.
