Each year the incoming class to Temple University arrives bigger and better than ever, and this year was no exception. Although classes just started on Monday, the class of 2020 has already begun breaking records.
With about 5,100 freshmen entering this year, Temple has seen it’s largest class yet. But the records don’t stop there. The university also saw an increase in total applications over the past year, with a total of 34,512 applicants, up 15% from last year alone.
And the class is as big as it is smart. This year’s freshmen also had the highest GPA and SAT scores of any other group, setting yet another record.
More than 2,400 transfer students have also chosen Temple as their new place of study. Coming from 46 states and 65 countries, Temple recently welcomed a diverse group of students from all walks of life.
While the future of the class of 2020 is still uncertain, one thing is for sure: this record-breaking class will go on to achieve great things during their time at Temple, and the hope is to continue the upward trend as a pool of new freshmen begin their college journey.
