Temple Wins Thrilling Five Set Match Against Memphis

In an exciting five set match Sunday afternoon, the Temple Volleyball team came out on top defeating Memphis 3-2.

In the first set, the Memphis Tigers came out hot and beat the Temple Owls 25-22. In the second set, it was a back and forth game until late in the game where Memphis took the lead and didn’t look back. Memphis beat Temple in the second set with a score of 25-21. With Temple down 0-2, it wasn’t looking too good for the Owls, but in the third set, Temple came back with great offense and won 25-17. With outstanding defense and offense, the Owls defeated Memphis in the fourth set with a score of 25-19. Temple came out and dominated the fifth and final set due to the shift of momentum and beat Memphis 15-9.

Outstanding performances were shown by Junior Irem asci who had a double- double with 23 kills and 22 digs, and Junior Dara Peric, who switched to libero, ha 12 digs. Junior Kyra Coundourides also had a double- double with 55 assists and 14 digs, and she also had 7 kills.

Temple Volleyball has improved their record to 10-4. The Owls next game is on Friday, October 7th at Tulsa.
