The Second Floor of the Student Center was the host site for Temple’s Third Annual Sports Journalism Summit. This year’s summit brought the biggest names of sports journalism locally and nationally.
In attendance were names such as Comcast SportsNet Philadelphia’s Ron Burke, ESPN’s Dana O’Neil, and Sports Illustrated’s Rob King. However, no panel was more anticipated than the last one of the day.
For the first time in history, the four play-by-play commentators from all four Philadelphia sports teams were publicly together.
Merrill Reese (Eagles) and Marc Zumoff (Sixers) came back to the institution where their success started at, while Jim Jackson (Flyers) and Scott Franzke (Phillies) came to North Broad Street for the first time.
Franzke says to stay versatile and keep your options open; Jackson has two main words of advice: Experience and Perseverance.
