Tinder’s Swipe-Off Concert on Campus

Temple University won Tinder’s 2024 Swipe-Off, a challenge that was launched by a group of students at the University of South Carolina in the Spring of 2018.

Select schools were able to compete for a free concert featuring artists Glorilla and Gunna on their campus through the app, and Temple took home the win with the highest swipe activity.

Tess Woolard, a Sophomore at Temple, wasn’t shocked to hear the owls won. She stated, “This is a very active campus in terms of the online usage of trying to make connections with people.”

In a statement Tinder said, “Our mission is to power and inspire real connections by making it easy and fun for every new generation of singles,” and “With the Swipe-Off challenge, Tinder combines the best of both worlds, bringing students together in real life around a shared interest.”

Temple Junior Alex Webster agreed that this event was a positive saying, “This does bring the Temple community and Temple students together in a nice way where like we can bond over something like music.”

Wednesday night’s concert took place at the Liacouras Center, offering students not only a good show but also a pre-show party. Students enjoyed free giveaways, photo booths, and DJ sets.

Tinder also gave students free giveaways at Temple’s Bell Tower on Tuesday, all to build up the hype for the concert.

One thing about this competition is for sure. Connections were made along the way, and this concert is one that students won’t forget.
