The Owls just couldn’t find the basket Sunday night in their 55-39 loss to Tulsa. Temple shot 14-57 from the field and a miserable 1-14 from three in their lowest scoring game of the season.
Foul trouble hurt Will Cummings, who only played 23 minutes, and picked up his third foul with around two minutes left in the first half. Cummings scored a team high 15 pts. for the Owls, shooting an efficient 5-7 in the game, and was the only Owl to score in double figures.
Cummings didn’t have much help on the offensive end as Quenton DeCosey, (1-8 FGM-A), Jesse Morgan (1-6), and Jaylen Bond (3-14) couldn’t get their shots to fall.
Tulsa took advantage of the Owls inability to make shots, and ran away with the game in the second half, and guard Rashad Smith finished with 13 points and 13 rebounds.
Temple, (19-9, 10-5) looks to finish out the season strong with only three games remaining, and leading up to the conference tournament. The Owls look to rebound from their worst scoring performance of the year Thursday at 7, when they host Houston in one of their final home games of the season.
