Trunks, Treats, and Temple!

Annual Trunk or Treat Event.

Halloween is here, and that means it’s time for sweet treats and spooky fun!

Temple University had its fourth annual Trunk or Treat event with Paul L. Dunbar Elementary on Monday night, bringing the Halloween spirit straight to the local community. But this event isn’t just for the younger kids, it’s also a chance for college students and campus organizations to connect with and give back to their neighborhood.

The event was orchestrated by Temple’s Black Law Students Association, led by president Mallorie Marsan, a junior. Marsan shared that even as a guest in the community, she looks for purposeful ways to make an imprint during her four years in Philadelphia.

A variety of other Temple groups also joined in the festivities, including the Fox African American Business Association, The Association of Black Psychologists, the Women’s Basketball team, Temple University Police Department, and Girls Who Lead. Each organization brought its own imaginative flair to the decorated trunks and candy stations, sparking awe and delight among attendees.

For the students of Paul L. Dunbar Elementary, the event provided a safe and welcoming space to enjoy Halloween with friends, collect delicious treats, and show off their creativity through imaginative costumes.

With joy, camaraderie, and the intoxicating scent of candy in the crisp night air, the event epitomized the power of community. It was a moment where Temple students and neighborhood residents came together to celebrate, connect, and create lasting memories.
