TUTV News Presents: #PopeOnTUTV

While the Papal Visit sent most Temple University students home or to make the most of what was close to a four-day weekend, a handful of students from the School of Media & Communications ran live news coverage of the historic event on Temple Television.

Armed with their Secret-Service issued media credentials, several young Temple students made their way out onto the Benjamin Franklin Parkway to cover the Papal Visit from as many different perspectives as possible. Meanwhile, several students ran the control room, studio and social media efforts to make the coverage successful on all platforms. The event could be followed with the hashtag #PopeOnTUTV.

The preparations for the Papal coverage spanned many months, and the students were guided in their venture by many Temple professors and consultants, among them — Paul Gluck, Peter Jaroff, George Cummings, Ed Dress, Lu Ann Cahn, Kyle Nesta, Bella Pezzati and Amy Caples.

The coverage would not have been possible without the generous donations from philanthropists and veteran media professionals Kal and Lucille Rudman, who helped conceive Temple University Television.
