Tyler’s Homecoming Art Mart

The Tyler School of Art and Architecture alumni association held the 13th annual art market featuring work from past and present students.

Multiple art forms, from crochet to pottery to glassblowing, were for sale.

Lauren Mohr, a 2021 graduate and member of the Tyler school’s alumni association, says “It’s a really great community space that they’re hosting here. It’s really great to see the variety, I think, of different art and artists. It’s been really wonderful for things like networking as well. Again, I’m just really grateful to be a part of the market today. It’s been really wonderful for things like networking as well.”

Everything on display underwent a rigorous judging process, with applicants needing to send in pictures of the artwork they intended to sell months in advance. Proceeds from the fees collected from this process will benefit the school’s General Scholarship Fund, allowing current and future students to attend the school.

Matt Davis, President of Tyler’s Alumni Association, says “We really try to bring to Art Market a diverse variety of work. Just trying to showcase, you know, all the different facets and mediums that you can pursue at Tyler and it’s not always what they majored in, but it’s, you know, their career and path forward.”

This homecoming display of some of Temple’s finest artists is a great way to link the past and the present to the future of Temple.
