Monday, October 2nd is Child Health Day, a day that promotes health insurance and access to better health care for children.
To show support all day on Monday, Temple University is spreading awareness throughout the campus about the upcoming HootaThon.
The HootaThon program will have a “headquarters” set up at the Howard Gittis Student Center, Room 200B, from 10 AM to 4:30 PM.
The headquarters will provide information to prepare HootaThon participants and helpers in addition to providing healthy snacks, fun & fitness activities, cape making, games, and Disney movie premieres all day.
Temple University’s dance marathon will also be collaborating with University of Pennsylvania and St. Joseph’s University’s marathons. The Philadelphia schools will use the phrase “Philly, #CommitForTheKidsToday” to further spread the awareness on social media.
