Update Now and Its Spanish-language version, Update Ahora is a student produced news brief, recorded Monday through Friday in TV studio 3 of the Annenberg Hall. Update Ahora does not only inform the Latino community about the latest news but also helps students develop production and reporting skills.
“It was a nervous experience, I was never used to being in front of a camera but I know this experience will benefit me because I am a public relations major, meaning that I would I have to stand in front of tons of big businesses,” says Glenda Gudiel, Reporter for Update Ahora.
Update Ahora started to air in Spring 2013 with the purpose to unify the Hispanic community of Temple University. Today, Update Ahora has not only melded with the Temple community, but it also became part of the Latino community of Philadelphia.
“There is not much for the Spanish community out there, so I believe that the Hispanic Update Ahora is most definitely a great start,” says Maryvic Perez, Reporter for Update Ahora.
Update Ahora is broadcast on TUTV: Comcast Channel 50 and Verizon Channel 45 within Philadelphia city limits. You can also find Update Ahora through YouTube, Facebook and Twitter.
