Wawa Makes Changes To Prevent Spread of COVID-19

Wawa announced in a news release on March 19, 2020 the addition of new temporary safety measures to combat the spread of COVID-19.

One of the most notable changes is how customers get their coffee. The coffee island, usually stocked with creamers, stirrers and various other condiments, is now empty. Wawa associates are now responsible for serving coffee to patrons from behind the counter.

The convenient store chain suspended all other self-service fountain beverages including iced coffee, cappuccino, and ICEE drinks.

Wawa associates are now also individually bagging bakery items to limit the spread of germs.

All stores, including 24 hour locations will be closed from 2 A.M. to 3 A.M. daily “for additional store cleaning, sanitation, and stocking.”

“Wawa remains committed to delivering our purpose of fulfilling lives every day and will continue to monitor the way we operate and make adjustments as needed,” the company said in their news release.
