On the night of Monday, August 31st, police found a 21 year-old Temple University student shot dead in her apartment on the 2300 block of North Park Avenue. Both Philadelphia Police and Temple University Police responded to the incident.
The original consensus was that the woman died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound. However, after evidence was gathered and the woman’s body was examined in an autopsy, Philadelphia Police Central Detectives turned the case over to the Homicide Unit for further investigation.
Temple Update’s Phil Dupont spoke with Director of Campus Safety Charles Leone about how the case evolved and what steps are being taken in the ongoing investigation.
Leone also explains why the Temple community never received a TU Alert about the incident in the first place.
