Temple students and faculty came together to host the “It Happens Here: A Conversation on Domestic Violence” Thursday, November 15th, 2018 in Anderson Hall.
This event was organized to encourage dialogue across Temple University’s campus surrounding domestic violence and the impact it has on the community.
Throughout discussions subjects of what defines femininity and masculinity, and what roles women can have throughout society.
The event also featured a guest speaker from A Woman’s Place a community-based organization aims at social change and committed to the empowerment of women and the ending of domestic violence.
The event was hosted by Hosting Our Own Talks (HOOT), a student organization focuses on creating a platform of events where diverse discussions are held about social justice.
The organization, like A Woman’s Place, aims at connecting Temple students to a 6local and global community.
