The Temple Performing Arts Center will get a taste of The Situation Room when Wolf Blitzer rolls into town. The CNN political anchor is the this year’s recipient of the Lew Klein Excellence in the Media Award.
“His many years in the television industry and devotion to political coverage made him a qualified recipient of the award,” said Board of Visitors Chairman Lew Kline.
The award has brought celebrities like Whoopi Goldberg, Robin Roberts, and Anderson Cooper through Temple doors in years past. These public figures have played a key role in upholding Temple’s School of Media and Communication’s national reputation.
“The fact that these individuals are willing to come to our school, and come to Philadelphia, come to Temple, is really a tribute and a recognition of the school,” said Kline. The chairman added that he is happy that these recipients can give Temple the recognition that it deserves.
A Q&A session with Blitzer will be held in TPAC before the award ceremonies. He will be the fifteenth person to receive this award. Blitzer has been working at CNN for 25 years reporting breaking news stories and will be noted for his success.
