Women’s Soccer Splits the Weekend

Temple Women’s Soccer had a busy weekend with two games on Thursday and Saturday.

Thursday night Temple came out of Rider with a thrilling Overtime game which ended with a 1-0 result in the Owls favor. Gabriella McKeown scored quick into overtime to secure the victory. And Sundays afternoon game yielded in a 1-0 loss to Towson at home.

The Owls offense have had a little boost in the past two games after recording 31 shots over the weekend, and been locking down teams on the other end, holding Rider and Towson to 17 shots combined. Kayla Cunningham recorded 8 of those 31 shots, while the only goal coming from Gabriella McKeown which puts her as the team’s leading scorer with three goals.

Jordan Nash has been exception to begin the season with 25 saves, ranking her number one in the Athletic American Conference. Also Nash put up an 86% save percentage which ranks third the AAC. And to add with one shutout.

Dipping under .500 with a 2-3 coming out of Labor Day, the Owls will get a few day break as gear up to face the Ivy League Princeton University at 7pm in Princeton, NJ.
