Temple University announced Wednesday on Twitter a new three-year deal with Nike to become the official outfitter of Temple Athletics.
The University previously had a 10-year deal with Under Armour, but mutually decided to part ways shortly after five years.
“I’m really looking forward to the move to Nike. They have always been at the cutting edge for sports gear and apparel so it’s only natural that we would engage in a partnership. I know our student-athletes will be excited to be wearing the swoosh” said Temple Football coach Rod Carey.
Nike will be the brand on each play for all 19 of the Owls’ varsity sports.
“We are very excited about our new partnership with Nike, the leading apparel company of collegiate athletics,” said Dr. Patrick Kraft, Temple Director of Athletics. “We look forward to working together in this partnership to enhance the Temple and Nike brands.
Temple now will become the seventh school in the American Athletic Conference tailored by Nike.
