City Responds to Damage from Isaias’ Destructive Path

Philadelphia and Philadelphia-area residents faced tough weather on Tuesday, facing heavy rain and harsh winds from tropical storm Isaias, resulting in destructive tornadoes and flooding.

Hundreds of thousands of people and businesses have lost power, and utilities say it could take days for electricity to be fully restored.

The Philadelphia Department of Public Health has announced 106 additional confirmed cases of COVID-19, bringing the total number of cases to 30,877.

The Department also confirmed no additional fatalities for the second day in a row. The number of Philadelphia residents who have succumbed to the virus remains at 1,695. 860 of those deaths (51%) were long-term care facility residents.
