In their game against Georgetown on Friday, the Owls offense had a very strong showing as they collected 19 shots on goal and generated 12 penalty corners. In their game Sunday vs Lafayette, the Owls offense came out with another strong showing.
Senior forward Alyssa Delp scored two goals and senior forward Tricia Light recorded a goal and two assists as the Owls (6-12) defeated Lafayette by a score of 4-1.
Temple had a strong first half as they went to the break with a 3-0 lead. Six minutes into the game the Owls got on the board as Light took a pass from senior midfielder Sarah Deck and found the back of the net to give Temple a 1-0 lead.
The Owls wasted no time extending their lead, as about three minutes later Delp scored her first of the game on an assist from Light to give Temple a 2-0 lead.
Then with about nine minutes left in the half, Delp scored her second of the game and 12th of the season on a penalty stroke to extend the Owls lead to 3-0 going into halftime.
Out of the break, Temple was able to extend their lead to 4-0, as about 19 minutes in, sophomore midfielder Rachael Mueller took a pass from Light and was able to beat the goaltender for her fourth goal of the season.
Lafayette got their only goal of the game with one second left in the contest.
For the game, the Owls recorded 10 shots on goal compared to Lafayette’s four and generated six penalty corners compared to Lafayette’s eight.
The Owls will wrap of their regular season next Saturday as they travel to inner-city rival Villanova.
