Philadelphia- Coming off of a tough 0-2 week, the field hockey team looks to get back on track as they go on the road to take on Monmouth University Friday afternoon at 3 p.m.

The Owls (2-4) are coming off a 2-1 loss to city rival University of Pennsylvania last Sunday. The loss was a tough one to swallow, considering the fact that Temple outshot Penn 17-6 and had 10 penalty corners compared to Penn’s two.

Earlier in the week, the Owls took on #18 Delaware in game that was a high scoring affair, but saw them come out on the losing end by a score of 7-4. Temple faced an early 2-0 deficit in that one and kept fighting back before Delaware put them away with two goals in a two-minute span in the 61st and 63rd minutes.

Temple will look to leading scorers in seniors Sarah Deck (five goals) and Alyssa Delp (four goals) to get the offense going against Monmouth and their sophomore goaltender Christen Piersanti who has a save percentage of .556 and has let up 16 goals in their six games.

After getting off to a 2-1 start this season, Monmouth now sits at 2-4 as they have lost three straight games, the latest being a 5-0 loss to Cornell on Sunday. Freshman Teresa Warner leads the team with three goals.

This game will be broadcasted on ESPN3.
