rp_primary_Defense_corner_20150828_FH_260_webThe Owls (3-10) kick off a three-game road trip Friday, as they travel to Rhode Island to take on Providence University.

Temple comes into this matchup riding a six-game losing streak and they are coming off a heartbreaking 2-1 overtime loss to Bucknell University. After going down 1-0, the Owls fought back and tied the game to send it to overtime, but Bucknell buried the winning goal off of an odd-man rush about seven minutes into the extra session.

Sophomore forward Hattie Kuhns scored the only goal for Temple in that game and it was her first goal of the season. Senior goaltender Haley Mitchell made six saves in the loss.

As for Providence, they enter this matchup with a record of 3-11. The Friars lost their first six games of the season, but they have somewhat rebounded and have gone 3-5 over their past eight games.

The Friars are coming off of a 3-2 win over Quinnipiac last Sunday. Junior forward Adrienne Houle recorded two of the three goals for Providence in that game and leads the team in goals this season with six.

After their matchup with Providence, the Owls will travel back to Philadelphia for a road game at Drexel University on Sunday and then will travel to Old Dominion on Tuesday to wrap up the road trip.
