Former, Current Temple Officers Involved in Deadly Assault

Two men with ties to Temple University Police have been charged after an incident in Germantown over the Screen Shot 2016-07-31 at 8.50.59 PMweekend.

Current Temple Officer Marquis Robinson and former Officer Aaron Wright have been charged with aggravated assault and murder after officers discovered the 24-year-old female victim, only identified as Wright’s girlfriend.

A reported shooting brought police to the 4600 block of Greene Street around 10:40am Friday, but contrary to earlier reports, the victim was not shot.

Robinson’s position with Temple Police has been terminated, while Wright resigned from the force in 2012.

Temple University is cooperating with Philadelphia Police as the investigation continues.
