Inflation’s Impact at Temple

Inflation has been a hot topic in our country since the pandemic. Prices for gasoline, food, and just about all other essential expenses have fluctuating prices that shake things up for businesses. At Temple University, students and small business owners are no exception.  

Temple Students frequent the food trucks and other eateries on and around campus and the student body seems aware that the prices of their favorite items have gone up. Inflation has been steadily rising since late 2021. Food prices alone have risen 11.4% since the beginning of the year due to the increasing costs of manufacturing.

With the rising costs, In many cases, the only way to stay in business is to raise their food prices. Despite this economic curveball, many establishments stay optimistic about their customer turnout. For more information on eating on campus click here.
