Owls Women’s Basketball Topples Memphis Tigers 64-51

The Lady Owls came out on top Sunday, with a 64-51 win against Memphis in an American Athletic Conference match-up.  The Owls are now 6-6 in the conference, while the Tigers fell to 4-8.

Temple took the lead right from the start of the game, as they were up 6-0 in the first minutes after tip-off. Junior guard Rateska Brown hit three treys in the first half to extend the lead even further.

Leading by 15 points after one half, Temple continued their double-digit lead into the second. Strong defense was a huge factor for the Owls, as Shi-Heria Shipp had a total of 13 rebounds.  Rateska Brown added two more three-pointers capping off a 5-8 performance from behind the arc. The Owls defeated the Memphis Tigers with a final score of 90-74.

The Owls are on the road as they take on conference match-up, and #4 Louisville on Wednesday, Feb. 12th. They return back at home, in the Liacouras Center, Saturday, Feb. 15th for their Annual ‘Play for Kay’ game.
