Manayunk Takes to the StrEAT for 3rd Fall Fest

It’s that time of year again, when Manayunk kicks it into high gear for the Fall StrEAT Food Fest. The fest takes place on Sunday, September 28th. Featuring forty food trucks offering everything from lobster rolls to “Mamas Meatballs” to “Robek’s Healthy Juices,” there’s something for everyone including your golden doodle, who can belly up to the “Poi Dog Snack Shop.”

IMG_0543This is a pay-as-you-go event and if you want to be in place for the opening dunk at “Milk and Sugar” food truck, you need to know that everything gets started at 11 am. If you are planning to pace yourself, there will be plenty of live entertainment, sidewalk sales, and local vendors on hand. Main Street will be closed to vehicle traffic throughout the one-day event, which ends at 5 pm.

Jane Lipton, the Executive Director of Manayunk Development Corporation says attendees can expect, “a fun and friendly atmosphere,” suited for all ages. She also mentioned that the fest will have its first pop-up beer garden featuring a variety of tastings.IMG_0545

Foodies in the area can continue celebrating the foods of fall during Manayunk Restaurant Week, which begins Sunday, September 28th and ends Friday, October 10th. Some of Manayunk’s premium restaurants will be offering three course meals varying from $15, $25, and $35 price ranges.

The newest restaurant in Manayunk, “Beast & Ale” is excited to participate in its first Restaurant Week.

“We have excellent food, excellent drinks, excellent service, and a great vibe that we want everyone to come out and enjoy,” said Service Manager of “Beast & Ale,” Eric Poupard.

This will be Manayunk’s third Fall StrEAT Food Festival, and will draw thousands of people throughout the area.
