After the final round of the Georgetown Intercollegiate at the 7,102-yard par 71 Members Club at Four Streams in Beallsville, Maryland, Temple men’s golf placed 10th out of 12 teams.
As a team, the Owls carded a final round total of 311, which resulted in a 27-over-par score for the day. Temple finished the tournament with a total score of 48-over-par 616. The top four scores on the team were counted for the final round.
Senior Brandon Matthews placed the highest for the Owls after his two-day total of 3-over-par 145. Matthews finished the tournament in 6th after a final round 3-over-par 74.
Redshirt freshman John Barone carded a final round 75 to have a two-day total of 150 to tie for 15th. Freshmen Sam Soeth and Trey Wren shot final rounds of 80 and 82, respectively. Soeth finished in a tie for 51st after two-day total of 159 and Wren finished in a tie for 59th after a two-day total of 162. Fellow freshman Gary McCabe rounded out the five with a total score of 164, which put him in a tie for 65th out of 68 golfers.
Princeton University won the two-day team tournament after carding a team total of 24-over-par 592. Rhode Island junior Billy Walthouse claimed individual honors after carding a tournament total of 2-under-par 140. Walthouse defeated Princeton junior Quinn Prchal in a playoff.
The Owls will end their 2015 fall season at the Visit Stockton Pacific Invite in Stockton, California from October 29th to October 31st.
