Philly Fashion Week Men’s Show Showcases Local Talent

Philadelphia may not be as well known for its fashion community as places like New York or Tokyo, but that did not stop people from coming out to celebrate Philly Fashion Week.

Night two featured a men’s fashion showcased that brought together 8 local and international designers.

Robert McGraw, a Philadelphia native and former Fox School of Business student, credited Temple education for allowing him to further his career in the fashion industry.

Alongside his BWC Garments business partner Josh Langford, McGraw is looking to take the fashion world by storm.

For northern Philadelphia natives Gene Vann and Rene Villafane, performing in Philly Fashion Week was a new experience.

“It’s something that you really can’t prepare for” Villafane said, referring to the feeling of walking in his first Fashion Week show.

The show’s designers included D Leaks, Nutz & Boltz, Kinietic Styles, Tim Arrington, Ian Alexander, Moses King, CBC Men, and BWC Garments.

Philly Fashion Week concludes with the Runway Show taking place on both Friday and Saturday nights at 8 p.m.
