Shooting at UNCC Leaves Two Dead

A shooting at University of North Carolina at Charlotte has left two dead and 4 wounded after a perpetrator opened fire on the university yesterday, April 30th.

The gunman entered a liberal arts classroom with a handgun shortly before opening fire on students in the class.

The campus quickly went on lock down, with university officials tweeting that students should “Run, Hide, Fight.”

The suspect, Trystan Terrell, was taken into custody at the scene and is currently being held awaiting trial for at least two counts of murder.

The university has canceled all final exams for the coming week and is currently investigating its safety and security standards.

This is the second shooting in the past few weeks, as a shooting on Saturday in a California synagogue left 1 person dead. The California shooting is being considered a hate crime and is being linked to similar far-right sentiments displayed in the Christchurch mosque shooting.
