Temple’s first CrossFit club started practices this semester at CrossFit Fairmount.
The club’s president, Lizy Pierson, decided to start the club after finding out Temple didn’t already have one.
Pierson says that the process to start the club began in September 2018. It took a year to get approved through the Student Activities Center.
CrossFit currently has about 40 members. Alexandra Knepper, a beginner in the club, encourages interested students advising, “Don’t kick it till you try it!”
CrossFit coach, Jamison Anton, admires the initiative of student participants.
“The students here are so willing to learn. It’s really, really refreshing to see people coming into CrossFit- especially as a club in college- being so excited about the movement-so excited to be able to get stronger- get healthier… It’s really nice to be able to help them out, whenever they get the opportunity.”
Students interested in TU CrossFit can contact them via social media.
