Temple Police succeeded in capturing 45-year-old Darryl Moon October 31, who is suspected of robbery and assault on Professor Gopalakrishnan Veeraswamy just two days prior.
Moon had found his way into Anderson Hall and punched Veeraswamy, proceeding to demand his wallet at knifepoint, then punched him one more time before escaping.
Temple Police worked with the Philadelphia Police and the Philadelphia community, as tips were sent in just after the release of the surveillance video, which led to the quick capture of Moon. According to police, Moon has had 16 arrests for robbery and assault in the past. His next court date is set for November 15.
Veeraswamy was taken the hospital for lacerations to his face, as well as bleeding in the brain. Veeraswamy was reported to be in good condition as of Wednesday morning.
As for the university, Temple Police are looking for ways to improve security in and around campus.
