Taking the Crown: Temple Homecoming Royalty 2016

Homecoming is a time that unites any school together. Whether you’re new on campus as a freshman, or a senior who wishes they could experience four more Homecomings, this time of year is anticipated by all.

One of the many events Temple hosts during Homecoming Week is the Homecoming Pageant, which is an event that ultimately crowns a Homecoming King and Queen. The pageant will take place this Thursday, September 22, in Room 200 at the Student Center from 8 pm to 10 pm. You may cast a vote anytime between now and Thursday night at 8 pm via Owl Connect. You can also see all your nominees and a little biography about each one on Owl Connect.

Speaking of nominees, let’s learn a little bit more about some of Temple’s future royalty. There are a total of 7 candidates, and each one would be perfect for the part.

Sydnee Jacques:

First up, Sydnee Jacques. Sydnee is a senior from North Wales, PA and is a Psychology major with a Spanish minor. She is very grateful for attending Temple because of the diversity and productiveness in the student body, and the amount of pride everyone has for our Owls. Something you may not know about Sydnee, is she is a proud First Generation American citizen!

Our next nominee is Anh Nguyen, a junior here at Temple, who is from Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. Ms. Nguyen is double majoring in Journalism and Information Science and Technology. Over the summer, she attended the RNC in Cleveland, Ohio and met former Republican candidate Dr. Ben Carson. Anh loves Temple due to the fact that we have such a wide variety of people on campus.

Sarah Driscoll:

Next up is Sarah Driscoll. Sarah is a senior from Pittston, PA who is majoring in Marketing, and in the near future, she will be earning her Certificate in Event Leadership. Although she has many favorite things about Temple, Sarah really loves the encouragement and empowerment this institution gives all it’s students. One may be surprised when they hear that Sarah has never eaten a burger, despite her serious love for food.
