Women’s Soccer Falters Against Lehigh

Temple Women’s Soccer lost a tough game Tuesday against Lehigh University. The final score was 1-0 thanks to an overtime goal. Temple falls to 3-7, while Lehigh stays without a loss standing at 7-0-1.

The 99th minute is where Lehigh’s Clare Severe beat Temple goalie Jordan Nash to score the game winner. Severe’s game winner came on Lehigh’s 26th shot of the game.

Temple recorded 11 shots on the day, Forward Kayla Cunningham led the Owls with 3 shots.

Jordan Nash faced a season high in shots today with 26, the Sophomore goalkeeper played strong having 9 saves while only conceding the lone overtime goal.

In the 56th minute the Owls had a big loss. Cydney Niedermeyer was sent off with Temple’s first red card of the season. Temple was forced to play with 10 players for the rest of the game.

Temple has nine days until they open up conference play here, at the Temple Sports Complex, Thursday September 29 against the Memphis Tigers at 3:30 p.m.
