Temple Ambler Prepares for Flower Show

With only about a week to set up, students and faculty from Temple Ambler are busy preparing for this year’s Flower Show. Ambler is taking a different approach than everyone else, as they are not following the theme of the year. Instead, they’re encouraging a modern approach to gardening.

“Our exhibit is about ‘un-gardening’. So, we’re talking about making people think differently about how they approach their landscape situations” said Michael LoFurno, an Adjunct Assistant Professor at Ambler.

Along with some students, LoFurno has been setting up for their exhibit at the Pennsylvania Convention Center.

Temple Ambler has a long history of winning awards from the Flower Show, including Best in Show, PHS Gold Medals, and a unique National Park System Director’s Award. Student Abigail Long told us they’re hoping to repeat last year’s results.

Long is excited for everyone to see how the Ambler community worked together for this project.

“We have a lot of different elements and a lot of different perspectives and it was really great to see them all come together as one,” said Long.

The Philadelphia Flower Show will be open to the public from February 29th to March 8th. Make sure you stop by Temple Ambler’s exhibit.
