Packaged Salad Recall

The Bistro packaged salads are being recalled due to the risk of e. coli contamination. Missa Bay, a New Jersey based company, has recalled about 100,000 pounds of salad products that contain meat or poultry due to the possible contamination.

Many people love quick and easy meals but little do they know that it can be extremely harmful.

“Um I always feel a little bit like worried like I obviously don’t wanna get sick or anything but I feel as long as the stores do their duty their part and take it off the shelves then I feel fine.” Klein College student, Jenna Miele says.

The salad products were produced and sold from October 14th through October 16th. The Bistro salad have made 17 people sick and hospitalized 7 individuals.

“I feel like there’s something being recalled every other day somehow and I feel like as long as you’re aware and there’s like messaging being out there so you make sure you know what you’re buying before you buy it I mean what more can you do as a consumer and even as like a distributor.” Klein College student, Daniela Quintero-Rodriguez says.

People infected with e coli can develop diarrhea and vomiting. Most people recover within a week; however, some cases can prove to be more severe. So, if you find that you have become infected remember to drink plenty of water and stay hydrated.
