Temple Football has called Lincoln Financial Field in South Philadelphia “home” since 2003 and will continue to do so until at least 2024
Temple University and The Philadelphia Eagles announced on Monday a five year agreement to continue playing home football games at The Linc.
“We are thrilled to reach agreement with the Eagles, and we look forward to more home games in the top-quality facility that is Lincoln Financial Field,” said Temple University President Richard M. Englert in a press release.
“This is a good deal for the Eagles and for the University and our fans, and I appreciate everyone’s hard work in bringing the negotiations to a successful conclusion” he said.
Alongside Monday’s announcement, the University told Temple Update that there is no new information regarding the proposed on-campus stadium. It appears these plans are now on hold.
The community based anti-stadium group, The Stadium Stompers could not be immediately reached for comment.
