Residents at Temple Towers had a great view of Temple Formula Racing’s first dynamic test of the school year.
Police provided an escort for the club to bring their car to Temple Towers parking lot Saturday afternoon.
This was the first time the car has been driven since May. Temple Formula Racing builds a new car each year.
They start from scratch and race the car in two competitions, one in Michigan and the other in Ontario.
Afterward, they assemble a business and marketing plan and the car goes through a mock sale.
The club can use help in these areas, so don’t be shy about getting involved.
Club member John Maruskanic describes skill sets the club is looking for.
“We enjoy doing the engineering stuff, the design. That aspect of it is what we’re going to school for. And if we have other people who are just as passionate about their particular field, which is accounting, marketing, that’s a huge benefit to us plus it looks good on their resume to future employers,” said Maruskanic.
Stop by the automotive garage on the first floor of the Engineering Building to find out more about Temple Formula Racing, included volunteer information.
