Temple Hosts Annual NCOW Fest

Temple hosted its annual street fair for National Coming Out Week on Wednesday, October 2nd.

Hosted by the office of Institutional Diversity, Equity, Advocacy and Leadership, the event celebrated diversity and LGBTQQIA+ representation on campus.

“NCOW fest is important because it’s an event that provides resources for those LGBTQQIA+ or for any allies to know what is happening in the city as well as on campus, and the whole week is important because it provides awareness and visibility about the community” director of student engagement Nu’Rodney Prad told Temple Update.

The event provided support and resources for students, as well as giveaways and info sessions.

“It’s important to celebrate everybody who’s been marginalized in the LGBTQQIA+ community” event volunteer LaRae told Update reporters.

Though NCOW fest may have only lasted through today at Temple, National Coming Out Week continues all week, with celebrations and events across the city.
